Data Processing
How Your Data Is Processed
- When you click "Scan" or use the Preempt protection feature, your prompt text is sent to our secure API over HTTPS.
- The API analyzes the text for security threats (prompt injection, jailbreaks) and sensitive data (PII).
- A sanitized version is returned to your browser.
- No prompts are stored or logged on our servers.
Data Retention
We do not retain or store any prompt data after processing. Each request is processed in real-time and immediately discarded. We do not maintain logs of user prompts.
Browser Extension
Permissions Explained
- activeTab: To access the current tab when you activate the extension popup.
- storage: To save your preferences (like protection toggle state) locally on your device.
- host_permissions (API only): To communicate with the Preempt API for security analysis.
Content Scripts
The extension injects content scripts on supported AI chat platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.) to provide real-time protection. These scripts only interact with the chat input fields and do not access any other data on the page.
Third-Party Services
Our services communicate with:
- Preempt API (preempt-production.up.railway.app): For security analysis and PII detection.
- Formspree: For processing feedback form submissions (only if you submit feedback).
We do not share your data with any other third parties, advertisers, or data brokers.
